About

Hi, I'm Patrick.

Coach for learners, professionals, and leaders

ICF Associate Certified Coach (ACC) · ATD Certified Professional in Talent Development (CPTD)

Based in New York City + the Hudson Valley · Coaching clients worldwide

I'm a coach who works with people serious about their growth — learners chasing academic goals, professionals shaping careers they love, and leaders stepping up to bigger responsibility. My job is to help you think clearly, act courageously, and build the skills, mindset, and systems that lead to sustainable success.

Alongside coaching, I also consult and design learning programs for companies and universities — but coaching one-on-one is the work I love most, and it's the focus of this practice.

My story

How I got here.

I grew up a public school kid in upstate New York and earned my B.A. in Economics and Government from Dartmouth College in 2013. After graduating, I headed to Washington, D.C. to work at the International Monetary Fund, helping economists build training programs for government officials around the world.

In 2015 I moved to Boston to join Harvard Business School Online, partnering with HBS professors to design courses in economics, strategy, management, leadership, and negotiation. While there, I earned my Master's in Education at the Harvard Graduate School of Education, studying the neuroscience and psychology of how humans learn and grow — and I conducted research with Ranjay Gulati on organizational leadership and with Amy C. Edmondson on psychological safety.

In 2019 I joined Wayfair to lead L&D for technical roles, where I got my first real taste of performance consulting, training facilitation, and coaching managers and individual contributors — and discovered how much I loved working with people one-on-one.

In 2020 I struck out on my own. Alongside consulting and design work, I began coaching learners on academic success, professionals navigating careers, and leaders stepping into bigger roles. Over time, coaching has become the heart of what I do.

What drives me is helping people learn and perform better in areas that matter to them. As a recovering perfectionist who has worked through anxiety and burnout, and as someone who struggled in school until I learned the right skills, I care deeply about helping clients grow in a compassionate, sustainable way.

Purpose · Vision · Mission

What I'm here to do.

My coaching practice is one expression of a broader personal philosophy I've written down and revisit often. Here's the short version.

Purpose

Why I exist

To help other humans fulfill their dreams and become the best versions of themselves — so they can experience satisfaction, joy, love, fulfillment, and meaning, and contribute to making the world a better place.

Vision

What it looks like

Showing up each day curious, calming, caring, and encouraging — so learners, professionals, and leaders leave with more self-awareness, sharper skills, clearer priorities, and the confidence to move toward the lives they want.

Mission

The work itself

To build and operate a practice that designs and delivers learning experiences — and one-on-one coaching — that help others develop the knowledge, skills, and mindsets to live satisfying, fulfilling, and impactful lives.

How I coach

Practical, evidence-based, human.

My coaching combines reflective inquiry, practical strategy, learning and performance psychology, cognitive-behavioral tools for fear and avoidance, and structured accountability — so the moves you make are aligned, courageous, and sustainable.

I'm an ATD Certified Professional in Talent Development (CPTD), an ACE-certified personal trainer (CPT), and an NASM Certified Nutrition Coach (CNC) — not as separate coaching focuses, but as expertise I draw on when it's useful. Stress, sleep, energy, and physical health are inseparable from performance, so I look at the whole person, not just the problem on the table.

Academic + learning performance

Helping learners — in high school, college, grad school, or any season of study — build the skills, systems, and confidence to thrive.

Career clarity + growth

Working with professionals at any stage to find direction, navigate transitions, and excel in work that fits their strengths and values.

Management + leadership

Supporting new and experienced leaders as they grow into roles that ask them to lead people — not just deliver work.

Mindset + habits

Cognitive-behavioral tools, reflective practice, and structured accountability to move through fear, perfectionism, and avoidance — with health and wellness insight woven in when it supports your overall performance.

How I ask

"If you knew the answer, what would it be? What if there were no limits? What's the real issue here? And — what else?"

Good coaching is less about answers and more about the right questions. My job is to ask the ones that help you think clearly, see new options, and commit to the next courageous step.

Core values

The ten things I care about most.

These are the values I try to embody — in my own life and in every coaching relationship.

Learning

Developing wisdom to navigate myself, others, and the world more effectively — and helping others do the same.

Contribution

Using my abilities, time, and resources to make a meaningful, positive difference in the lives of others.

Connection

Cultivating close, deep, meaningful relationships with the people who matter to me.

Community

Belonging to groups that share my values, support my growth, and work toward common goals.

Freedom

Autonomy of thought, time, and expression — so I can live, create, and choose in alignment with my true self.

Calm

Inner clarity, steadiness, and mindful responsiveness — meeting challenges with wisdom rather than reactivity.

Balance

Harmony among the many roles and dimensions of life, so no single area overwhelms the whole.

Stability

Dependable structures, routines, and foundations that create security, clarity, and sustainability.

Integrity

Aligning actions with values, honoring commitments, and living in a way that's honest, ethical, and true.

Play

Bringing fun, joy, lightness, curiosity, and humor into daily life.

"Success means showing up each day so people leave with more knowledge, sharper skills, and the energy to make the changes that move them toward the lives they want."

Outside of coaching, I run, work out, bowl, play tennis, cook, see shows, strum my guitar, and listen to far too many podcasts and audiobooks.
